The event, which is part of the Somerset Land & Food Project was held to celebrate locally produced food and community growing in Somerset and has been managed by Somerset Community Food for the last three years. The purpose of this project has been to bring together landowners and groups looking for land to grow food to feed and sustain their communities.
As well as a celebration of the achievements of the project, the event included skill share sessions and discussions about successful allotment sites, community gardens, market gardens and other examples of successful locally produced food projects.
Tessa said: “This is a fantastic event and it was so interesting to hear about the wonderful initiatives that Somerset Community Food and the Somerset Land & Food project are involved in. I look forward to attending similar events in the future and I hope that projects encouraging locally produced food and sustainable living will be successful in my patch.”
