Local MP Tessa Munt arranged a meeting last week between the Shepton Mallet Autism Support Group and Sarah Teather, Minister of State (Children and Families) in Parliament to discuss the special Educational Needs (SEN) Green Paper.
The Shepton Mallet Autism Group are a successful and well informed local group who help over 100 people in the Shepton Mallet area. The group were keen to speak with the Minister to discuss their views, concerns and questions regarding the Green Paper; especially before it becomes a White Paper and a step closer to legislation.
Tessa said, “I know what excellent work the Support Group does in the Shepton Mallet area and I was more than happy to facilitate a meeting with Sarah Teather. It is important that such a well informed group has the opportunity to give their feedback to the Minister and I knew that Sarah Teather would appreciate hearing their views and perspectives. I was very grateful that Sarah could spare some of her precious time to meet them.”
