Tessa Munt, MP for Berrow, visited a Berrow specialist care home run by Homes Caring for Autism. The company operates five specialist care homes in Somerset, as well as homes in North Somerset and Wiltshire, employing more than one hundred and twenty people.
Tessa is seen here with Kirsty Harris, the Manager of the home, listening to one of the four young men who live at the home tell her about his garden, where he grows all his flowers from seed.
Richard Smith, Managing Director, said “Tessa has impressed so many people with her energy and enthusiastic support for local people and local issues. Homes Caring for Autism have been part of the Berrow community for eight years now. Tessa showed a genuine knowledge of, and interest in, autism and we’re delighted that she has taken the time to visit us”.
Tessa said “I was delighted to be invited to visit the home of these young men. It is always an inspiration to meet people who have had a tough start in life and are really working to improve their lot with positive enthusiasm and hard work. I look forward to continuing my work, making links in Parliament, to support adults, young people and children with autism so that everyone has the best possible opportunity to live happily in his or her home, here in Somerset and elsewhere.”
